Spring Cleaning: 7-Day Juice Cleanse – Day 3

juice cleanseGood news, Friends, if you’ve made it this far, you’re likely due for some better days.

As with any juice cleanse or similar experience, your mileage is going to vary, but, generally speaking, those first two days are the roughest ones.

Very soon, if not already, your body is really starting to break down the toxins and fatty acids are being converted. The hunger pangs that you may have been experiencing should, at least slightly, subside as your body actually begins to embrace the cleanse. Your digestive system is happily taking some time off and it should pay your body back with good feelings.

Day 2 Recap

I hurt myself.

Despite making a very conscious effort to keep my hydration level high and my exercise moderate, I tweaked my hamstring doing a very simple routine that I’ve done a hundred times.

This serves as great reminder that, even if you think you’re taking it easy, you should probably dial it back even more!

My hunger wasn’t bad, but my appetite was almost nil. I had to make myself drink juice at the regular intervals. That’s never fun, but it’s a necessary evil.

What Am I Drinking Today?

MEAN GREEN JUICE will likely continue to be part of my routine all week – at least until I get sick of the taste.

I mentioned yesterday that I was looking for something to do with a cantaloupe. I found a simple and pretty decent recipe that I tried yesterday.

  • 1/2 cantaloupe
  • 2 small apples
  • 1 cup of spinach

Simple. Clean. Nice little shot of energy.

Juice Cleanse Reminders

I’m going to say it everyday… Water! Water! Water!

Stay on it!

As your toxins start to breakdown you may experience something a little gross. Your body may start expelling some mucus through your nose and throat. It’s pretty nasty, but it’s also very normal. Just don’t be alarmed if you have a little discharge.

You may still feel a little creaky and sore. Still normal, but if it becomes too intense, consider modifying your program.

Be smart with exercise. As I can attest, even simple things can leave you limping.
