We’re officially kicking off our first community juice cleanse tomorrow (Monday, March 24th)!
Super excited about sharing this experience with you as we share war stories and experiences here and on the Facebook page.
As you do those last second preparations for tomorrow morning, I wanted to share a few DO’s and DON’T’s for this “Spring Cleaning” 7-Day juice cleanse.
Juice Cleanse DO’s and DON’T’s
DO… go in with an open mind… Especially if this is your first time. I don’t want you to think it’s going to be easy, but I also don’t want to see you psych yourself out. Have an open mind to the experience and just see how it goes.
DO… trust your body… You are the subject matter on YOU! Don’t be stubborn and do anything that is harmful to you. If you’re not feeling well, there is no shame in tapping out. Be smart!
DO… play with recipes… There are thousands of juice recipes out there on sites like these… but don’t be afraid to play around with them. I made the mistake on my last cleanse of sticking strictly to recipes and never found a juice that I really liked. Finding some that you legitimately enjoy will make this week so much smoother!
DO… drink that water… You’re flushing toxins. That’s the cleanse part of juice cleanse. The juice is giving your stomach and digestive system a light week of work, but drinking that water is going to flush those toxins.
DON’T… overdo it in the gym… Some “experts” believe that you shouldn’t do any exercise at all during a juice cleanse. That’s a little extreme. You can absolutely be active… just keep it light. You’re going to be way down in protein and carbohydrates, so your energy for high intensity exercise may be compromised.
DON’T… be afraid to stumble… If you’re standing at the juicer and your brain says “I’ve just got to chew something” and you take a bit of a carrot stick… don’t sweat it! We’re not going for perfection. Have the experience that you’re meant to have.
DON’T… do it alone… The whole idea of inviting this community to join me on this juice cleanse was so that we could share the experience. Talk to us! Tell us when it’s tough! Here… Facebook… even Tweet me. There’s real power in community. Use it!
I don’t know exactly what your experience is going to look like just like I don’t know about mine.
Let’s do it together… support each other… and see what happens.
Bring on the juice!
